John “Deuces” Gilley
John "Deuces" Gilley
Deuces was
brought aboard by his younger brother, The Bear for the October 2006 game.
While he may be young in the sport of paintball he has already shown the
courage, intensity and the ability of his brother.
Deuces’ nickname has been with him since well before he
joined up with Steel Reserve. Apparently he got it while playing Bridge.
Sure he tells people Texas Hold 'Em but that's just because he wants to sound
cool.
The most intriguing thing about John is he was the first
ever “clean slate” player brought to Steel Reserve. With no prior experience,
his growth and knowledge of the sport is at the hands of the team. John may be
in trouble. Scratch that, John is in trouble. The Bear and Elbows
have brought him up to speed on some of the aspects of commanding that he will
find useful when he finally takes on that role. Look for it possibly
sometime in the 2009 campaign.
Date of Birth: November 9, 1975 (Old Man on the
Team)
Location: Bloomingdale, IL
Notable Saying: "Sittin' here bein' fat."
Weapon of choice: Invert Mini and Evil Omen
(Actually the Omen burned in a house fire with his first
Mini which ironically he bought in an auction to benefit a
family who lost their house due to a house fire.)
